Little Red Dress – in Collaboration with Jara Wine

This Red Chiffon Bow Tie Dress is the second one I’ve styled for Jara Wine. (Boho chick look with another Jara’s dress is available HERE.)

The pop of bright red colour is astonishing and is the main attribute of this dress which is suitable for a day and night outings and is really versatile.

I have teamed the dress with the leather H&M jacket, Primark knee-high socks and TopShop chunky heels. It is quite an unexpected combo but my goal was to demonstrate unconventional way of wearing this kind of dress.

Jara asked me to style some of her designs for the shoot so for the first look I chose this Cycle Print Bow Tie Chiffon dress which I used to create a boho chick look. I teamed the dress with a floppy hat (River Island), long grey cardigan (Pull & Bear), Maroccan handbag, green cowboy boots (Deichmann) and white patterned socks (Primark).

Spring – Summer trends at London Fashion Weekend

It’s spring!!! Well, at least in the calendar… But this miserable London weather cannot stand in a way of SS14 hottest trends that will be appearing in my and probably your wardrobes.

So I and my friend Juste have bought the Silver ticket to London Fashion Weekend and Trend catwalk to see what’s the deal. We were well excited! Ha! It was quite a good show I have to say. Four main trends were presented on the catwalk and here are my best pictures representing all of them. We couldn’t sit in the FROW so forgive me for protruding heads at the bottom of some pictures 😀

London Fashion Week – Street style

So I went to Somerset House on the very first day of London Fashion Week and I couldn’t have chosen the worse time to do so… It was windy and raining non-stop (what a surprise, London!!) and, therefore, there were not that many people around, which was quite disappointing.. Anyway, I did what I came to do, and that was to take some style snaps!

Here you go!

New York Fashion Week – Put a belt on me

I, like any other self-respecting fashionista, am very excited about this time of the year. Maybe a tad too much… The reason is, of course, New York Fashion Week, which I am not able to attend in person (tears galore), therefore, I am glued to my laptop trying to stream every possible show or at least go through the pictures of the collections. This is the first year that I am so involved and, I have to admit, it makes me very happy! I know, I know it is becoming ‘uncool’ to give a damn about it as there are many articles going around about what a circus Fashion Week had become, but, being honest, I do not care. It is the biggest fashion fiesta and I am celebrating it! And by ‘celebrating’ I mean Tweeting, Instagraming, blogging, etc. Well, that’s just the way we roll these days…

Anyway, I was watching show after show and I’ve noticed one thing. Belts. Everywhere. Everything is belted, from jackets and coats to dresses, and it looks good, and more importantly, it looks fresh. As seen in Donna Karan, Milly, Altuzarra, Custo Barcelona and others, thin belts (even for outerwear) were dominating; however, Marc by Marc Jacobs belted models with thick boxing belts to compliment the designs screaming of ‘girl power’. It is not an easy trend to embrace as we are used to put our belts on trousers or jeans and it’s there on purpose, although belted jacket or a coat gives a structured and sophisticated look as well as helps to accentuate the female form. It is kind of ‘I mean business vs. sexy’ and it grabs an attention without being too flamboyant.

I was never a big fan of belts (except for my jeans; I need them there, please) but New York Fashion Week just won me over. I give in, put that belt on me! Next season it would be interesting to experiment with belting an oversized, slouchy coat and see how it would change an outfit completely.

Fashion photoshoot. Part 2.

So here it is, the second part of my fashion shoot with Joanna Reich. The pictures are all similar in this post but they are my favourite ones so I crammed them all in for you to judge. This time I am wearing the same bleached denim shorts as in the last post, but I tried to create a different look by wearing the slouchy H&M sweater and studded high-top wedge sneakers. I found these shoes on eBay and I fell in love with the leopard print (which is starting to dominate in my wardrobe) and studs so I had to have them. I have never bought any clothes or footwear online before, so I was a bit terrified they (and other 2 pairs of shoes I bought on the same shopping spree) might not fit me, but they did! All of them! Sometimes a girl has to take a risk in order to get more original design. 🙂 IMG_0117 IMG_0118IMG_0080

Folli Follie: colours and fun!

IMG_1973

Last week me and my friend Joana from Grow in Fasion  went to the event at theFolli Follie store in Regent Street (in association with Company magazine) and we had a good old girly time. First of all, the store and its merchandises were just beautiful… We could not stop gawking at the amazing jewellery (our mutual favourite was cuff bracelet) and watches. And let me tell you something about the bags… They were truly amazing. Yes,  it is as simple as that. I could not take my eyes off of the yellow tote bag and a blue one from the K Vintage collection. The most important thing was the obvious quality of the bags and everything around us.

Shoreditch Vintage Fair

Saturday afternoon I went to see Schoreditch Vintage Fair with another blogger Joana (Grow in Fashion). Everyone loves a bit of vintage, right? So we went there to look, buy and drink some tea (yes, old, good and very English tea!).

The fair was not huge but it seemed like the best pieces of vintage were under one roof. Old denim, customised Levi’s, printed dresses, 70s clothing, Great Gatsby wardrobe and lots of vintage ‘bling’ brought us back in time and let us feel that old and sometimes forgotten elegance and beauty.

I was obsessed about the jewellery I found! Amazing and unique vintage rings, earrings, bracelets and necklaces can really make a difference to anyone’s wardrobe and you can be sure you won’t find a bunch of people wearing the same stuff when walking down the Oxford Street.

My other favourite thing was the amount of sunglasses representing different decades. You could find anything between 70s Hollywood glamour shades to white and black Mickey Mouse sunnies famously worn by Lady Gaga. There was also a Lipstick & Curls service ready to transform any girl into a vintage diva.

The real star of the day! Everybody couldn’t get enough of this little ‘vintage fan’ and he was obviously enjoying the attention!

IMG_1931_1

After we finished browsing the racks of clothes and ‘ooohhhhing’ and ‘ahhhhing’ over the accessories, we went to look for the promised tea served in the vintage china. When we went into the room we saw this…

OMG! Is this Heaven?! We wanted everything and, as you can probably guess, it’s pretty much impossible to resist.. and it didn’t disappoint.. If you are not the biggest fan of vintage, these cakes are the reason alone to come to this fair! Yammm…

Wild Style – Debbie Harry

Debbie Harry has been a fashion inspiration for many decades and is still going strong. At the age of 67, she’s touring the world with her legendary band Blondie and is not shying away from the bold fashion choices.

Her style has been talked about for years and the pictures are known for everybody but I just couldn’t resist to pay a tribute to a great style.

Influenced by 70s and 80s music scene, Studio 54, Andy Warhol and New York youth, Debbie created a unique, rebellious, and unmistakable style with a major sex appeal which helped to sell records and make it in the music business as well as become a style icon. Wild blonde hair, sharp cheekbones, slender figure and daring clothes make the signature look of the Blondie’s front woman.

The fascinating thing is that looking through the pictures of her I realised that her style is pretty much in all the trends we have in the High Street right now. Double denim, rock’n’roll T-shirts, florals, trouser suit, neon make-up etc. are up on our styling lists so I guess that makes new wave princess Debbie Harry very relevant in a fashion world indeed!

London Fashion Week Street Style. Part 2.

Here are some more snaps from London Fashion Week at Somerset House. London never fails to surprise me with the amount of creativity and craziness possessed by our young and creative generation. It seams like every person who is related to fashion in one or another way went completely bonkers (in a good way) to express their individuality and showcase their style, designs and personality. Somerset court yard was even more colourful and eccentric than Camden on the weekends or Soho during Gay pride. But that’s the way it should be. Fashion Week is there to celebrate the new fashion and discover new talents so let’s celebrate it properly. Fashion industry was never meant for shy and modest.
